It's an evangelistic christmas party for our non-christian friends!

WHEN?
20th December 08 (that's the saturday straight after camp!)

WHERE?
One of our houses! (anybody wanna volunteer? SMS ME NOW)

HOW?
We're going to invite our friends down for an evangelistc CHRISTMAS PARTY at one of our houses It's gonna be fun (cos you all gonna put a lot of time and effort into it. heheheh.) and after the dinner and what not, we'll watch an evangelistic video by Billy Graham Ministries or whatever name they're called(:

Below's the synopsis of the DVD we're watching in the MHS campaign.

· This DVD is more suitable for the younger audience of youth and young adults. It speaks of the vanities of striving for human wisdom, money, power and a hedonistic lifestyle. It has several local stories as Billy Graham preaches his sermon. Engaging to young people!

just like to share with u a cool verse that i discovered while during qt!!

it's from psalms, and it says..

"Praise be to the Lord, to God our Saviour, who daily bears our burdens." - Psalms 68:19

it struck because it says that God HIMSELF bears my burdens(: like, WHOA! :D He loves me and that means I really don't have to worry about my life. you know? regardless of what happens to me, i know it's gonna be okay because i'm not alone. God is for me!

SO I'M FREE:D it's a great feeling!!

and u know what?(: this applies to you too! he is our saviour, and that doesn't apply only to our life after death. It starts now! :D

i know a couple of you are pretty stressed about ur exams, so take heart. God cares for you too. and if He's bearing your burdens, you don't need to carry them too (:

hi there - great to hear you, and thanks for asking some questions - i love looking at such things! i'll reply after each question below...

only God can answer this fully. my guess at it is that God wanted GENUINE RELATIONSHIP. This necessitates FREE CHOICE - ie the choice to be his friend or not to. If i put the gun to your head and say 'will you be my friend' your answer will be yes, but you'll never be a true friend huH! in giving us the free choice the inevitable was that some would take it. the devil and many angels did. And we did. Maybe this is the only path so as to get to that place of truly trusting God and also giving Him genuine relationship (rather than only because he's like big and powerful and we 'should') only God can confirm this -b ut this is my guess. It was inevitable. But God only started this whole creation as the end product would work out well - we can be sure of that - His love and power are sufficient!

#3 Did God know? God knows everything, He knows the future> and He has plans...and if God knew that more than half of the world were to> go to hell, for eternity. (linking it to my question about sin) it is our> nature too...so it's not really "fair" to send man to hell because they sin.> Then, why did God still create the earth? If He did really love the world,> and knew all along that more than half would not accept Him and thus go to> hell, He shouldn't have created it.

I'd not yet accept that more than half would go to hell. It's said that there are as many people alive on earth today as have lived in history preceeding - human population has worked amazingly to produce this amazing fact. while maybe only one in7 or one in 8 on earth are currently Christians I'm not ruling out God doing something greater than we've yet seen or imagined, and bringing BILLIONS to faith by the power of His Spirit. Even right now at www.god.tv you can watch a remarkable revival, currently called 'the florida outpouring' taking place. I've sacrificed a number of nights of sleep to watch the 4-6 hour long services, seeing deaf healed, blind seeing =- 20 people raised from the dead so far. They are up to day 66 today of this outpouring - MILLIONS are now watching via TV and internet. If you have broardband and don't need to sleep you could have a watch. At that www address click on 'god tv on demand' - it will give you past nights sessions - you can choose and watch one. Some stuff is wierd to see to begin with, but the way to judge it is to look at the fruit. Watch (tho it will cost you time) and look at the fruit! I'm still holding out that God is going to multiply things like this to bring in BILLIONS. God does love people, and like He says in 2 Peter 3:9 He is genuinely desiring that none should perish. ultimately your faith in God is your decision. if we mull over the many things we can't fully understand or see from where we stand as small temporary beings on planet earth we can fill our hearts with doubts. it is good and healthy for us to consider these questions, but choosing faith is the only conclusion what will restore peace to our hearts. We cannot provide an 'apologetic' (ie an answer by human reasoning) for every question to teh satisfaction of non-believing minds - but we can see things like deaf hearing and accept that even tho we can't understand it all God really is who He says He is - good, loving and in control of this apparant mess on earth!

i cant believe this blog is so dead lah, i come back from mob still e same =.= anyway, God has really taught me alot during mob, so go for it nxt yr k! and pray for my foot. I've got an ant bite and apparently my blood vessels burst and I can't walk now. I'm unglamly sliding on e floor at home =.= so pray for miracle healing! (:

just an update about one of your dear cg members.. loo juin!

His dad (as some of you know, is a medical doctor) will be heading over to China, Sze Chuan, Chengdu tomorrow to help out in the hospitals, relief work i'm guessing, and he'll be returning on sunday.

Let's keep him in prayer. loo juin is pretty worried because of, you know, all the earthquakes and tremors and stuff. so let's pray for his dad's safety!

remember to keep him in prayer throughout this week, knowing our God is a BIG God who loves his children and watches over them. =) take care guys! and remember ur qts ^^

are we in.. The Pursuit of Nothing?

No, this post isn't about attaining nirvana like the buddhists. just would like to share a thought with you guys(:

I was listening to the song "healer" by planetshakers and these two lines really spoke to me. (go listen to it if you guys have a chance, it's on my blog) The first line brought the priests of the old testament to mind. (remember that we are called a royal priesthood) The Priests and Levites in the old testament didn't have any land as inheritance when they entered the Promised land, but rather, their inheritance was their God.

"The Lord said to Aaron, 'You will have no inheritance in their land, nor will you have any share among them; I am your share and your inheritance among the Israelites.'" - Numbers 18:20

Is God our portion? Yes.

Is He really more than enough for us? Yes.

What's the price? Everything.

Is it worth it? Of course!

Jesus said that if anyone does not carry his cross and follow Him, he cannot be His disciple. Sometimes we can get so caught up in the rat race, especially when we see everyone going for it. you name it. Popularity, relationships, good results, great careers, leadership positions, prestige, high paychecks, big houses, dot dot dot... but end of the day what's the point?

could i challenge you to think that even if we lose everything, but still have jesus, we still win? the day will come, sooner than you think, when we have to stand before the judgement seat of God. we're still young, and we don't always like to think about something so far off, but the fact is, it's there. like it or not, it's coming.

when that day comes, and you are stripped of everything, what would be left? have you been living your life in a way that matters in eternity?

We don't need good grades to be loved.

We don't need to look good to be accepted.

We don't have to be smart to fit in.

God says that YOU belong to him. remember the verse i shared on sat?
"You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit - fruit that will last." John 15:16

all the things that i've mentioned aren't wrong things. by all means, study hard. but remember to bring it under the authority of jesus (: cos a life that is void of jesus is void of life.

God is our portion, and He's all we need. Live for Him and you'll soon discover the riches that you have in Christ Jesus. (:

Pursue something, not nothing.

I've been encouraged to share about a certain verse which I find particularly helpful as of late. Initially, I opened the page and couldn't think of what to blog or how to express how I feel so I succumbed to closing the page.
I thought about it and decided against being so selfish.

From November 2007 last year, I've been going through a very tough patch in my life. I lost alot of sleep and was unable to concentrate at what lay ahead. I took things very badly and felt very negatively about myself. For weeks, I cried every single day, I clung onto things that were temporary and should be insignificant. I couldn't slash my wrists because people will look and spread gossip amongst themselves so I slashed my thighs. But the physical pain only took the emotional pain away for a short while, a minute or two. But that was how desperate I wanted to rid the emotional pain, that even that short minute of temporary pain was like a light of hope and ease.
I felt very held down by the situation. Constantly, I tell myself to suck it up or walk tall but I was so easily affected by what was happening at that point of time that I couldn't make it to the next step. I had this huge void within myself that I was trying to fill up with the most unimaginable things. I degraded myself by willing to do the most disgusting things in hopes of making myself feel better.

As of late, I've started to feel alot of better. I've begun to place down hurt, I'm already on my two feet and I'm slowly walking. I hope that I would be able to start running in the next few months. I don't look back but instead, I try to reach for what lays ahead. Sometimes, I have this compulsive need to check out something that I'd really like to know but when I evaluate the situation I realised that it'd do more harm. I don't want to and I cannot let myself go back to the horrible person I became when my world fell apart so I refrain from checking on things that should remain insignificant, what you don't know can't hurt you.

Some nights, when I feel like doing irrational things, I'd flip to Hebrew13:5-6 "Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you. So we say with confidence, 'The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?'" I've realised that God puts me through everything for a reason and He'll never give me a burden too heavy to carry. He knows perfectly well what's best for me. Eventually, all things will pass away and what remains standing at the end is not the guy that tore me apart or the things that he did to, but rather, My God and me.
Just last week, this one guy said something that stopped me in my tracks, I was so sure that I was going to fall. And I wanted to ask God why. But instead, I prayed incessantly, through the tears and asked God where do I go from there. And he amazing spoke to my heart 'Forward'.

I never expected myself to write such a long testimonial.

Haha okay this is my first post here so it's weird but anyway, Easter is coming! It's so cool right? Can i hear loud cheering? Hahhaa sorry i sort of downed 1/3 a bottle of 1.5 litre coke today. ANYWAY, i invited 7 friends down so far, some more to go. But the thing is that there arent any positive replies, or rather very shaky responses so can you all please pray? Cos my school really needs a revival. I look at the people in my class and i wanna cry. Thing is, the people who really need God dont think they do and soooo i have decided to target those who are okay (or at least i think they are) in life and rather happy. Cos after all, they all need God right? Yup i hope you all will join me and pray cos God said that when two or more are gathered in His name, He will hear and answer our prayers. Amen? Yeah. Dont' give up. Just keep going and going and going. Like God-powered duracell =) God is in control, so remember to PRAY PRAY PRAY too!!! Consider fasting one meal this week to pray for easter(: Or one day if u're more "garang". hahaha.

Remember what we talked about in tm at the very start of the year...
Vision + Action + Faith + Perseverence = A Mighty Act of God.

So keep acting, keep believing, and keep persevering!!

Hey Guys :D

It's me, AGAIN. (it's joash, if u haven't guessed:P)

I just realised it was the holidays yesterday, how slow is that. Living in the army really makes me feel like a frog in a well:P

But hey, just wanted to encourage u guys to make good use of the holidays. :) It certainly is a great time to rest, catch up on work, meet up with friends, but don't forget the most important thing of all! Waiting on God(:

i challenge u all to spend maybe a day, or an afternoon, just spending time with God. you can spend it reading his word, meditating on it. you can spend it praying, maybe for the outreaches coming up or anything that God burdens your heart with. you can worship with a praise cd. you can read a good christian book. maybe even meet up with ur pace partner just to pray for something!

Invest your time in something that really lasts, and what lasts more than eternity and your relationship with God? of course, set aside time for stuff like studies and family too!

Hope you guys have a great holiday(: I'll be spending this week in some ulu-fied corner of singapore watching over soldiers that won't fall into the water. Ah well. Will be keeping all of you in prayer!

I got something to share! When i found out tt i couldnt go for ignite coz of debate competition, i was upset tt God wouldnt be working in my sch this yr. i had been praying & seeing not much results for ages for passionate christians to rise up in our sch n pray..n i was really discouraged. BUT...God surprised me!

Having only 1yr of training (sec3), compared to other schs, we r super lousy. So my team was really worried for our competiton...before the first debate we (4 christians) prayed! Our non-christian fren decided not to join us...so she was observing the competiton scene...later she told us that ri (no offence zr) was laughing at us when we were praying...guess what?

WE WON! bwahahahahaha:D

so since then, our non-christian fren decided to join us in prayer! yeah!
yeah, in the end after 3 rounds, the scores were tabulated n we made it to the semi-finals! so yup, considering what a loser debate team we are (with retards like me) THANK GOD(: He used our weakness to show how big and MIGHTY He is! And it was really encouraging to be joining hands in prayer before a competition! yayeee! though we lost our semi-finals to mgs, we still testify that God had been in total control of everything. Yay!
*pray for our next competition on 15feb!:D

And...one day 2ppl approached me asking if i wanted to set up a prayer core grp for our level! woohoo! so now our IPrayer grp meet on mon n fri:D and combine with other NJC students on wed to pray. The grp is growing! so amen!
*pray that God will increase our faith & numbers as we pray, & of course salvations!

Yup, its really cool to see God working in ways that i'd never thought He could:D
